Eight years ago (in 1987) 5 young Saraguro Indians formed the folk group Rumiñahui. Their goal is to promote and extend the knowledge and appreciation of Andean Music. They have performed at many festivals and concerts, both nationally and internationally. Rumiñahui is one of the first groups to add the name of Saraguro to popular Andean music in the U.S.
